BBC Football Commentary

Ever fancied yourself as the next voice of football? Can you keep up with the pace? Can you spot that off the ball incident? Can you pronounce the player's name? If you think you have what it takes then come and see us for your chance to experience the excitement of commentating on a major Scottish game.

BBC Weather

Why does it always rain on me? Is it because I got my weather graphics wrong? Wonder how a TV weather forecast looks "behind the scenes"? We will have a mock up of the weather set-up where you can have a chance to stand in front of a camera and present your own take on the wonderful Scottish weather. Will you be able to cope with last minute changes? Come along and find out - remember to watch out for four seasons in one day!

BBC Outside Broadcast (OB) Sound Truck

Delivered in July 2003, the 18-tonne digital sound vehicle is the flagship of BBC Scotland's fleet, designed to handle the most demanding music productions and large-scale events for both TV and Radio.

At the heart of the technical infrastructure is a Soundtracs D4 digital mixing console with 160 channels, upto 112 mic inputs, 124 busses, 48 motorised faders, 5 touch screens, 44.1kHz, 48kHz, and 96kHz operation, and full dynamic and snapshot automation. Two flight-cased stageboxes connect to the truck via fibre-optic cables capable of runs up to 1.75km.

Come and have a go at mixing a band, 'controlling' a DJ show or just have a look at one of the BBC's most up-to-date facilities.

BBC Radio Experience

Have you ever wanted to try your hand at radio presentation? Do you think you've got the voice and technique to read the news? Could you be the next Jackie Bird? Come along and join us at the Radio Scotland experience where you'll have a chance to don the headphones and test your presentation skills. Read the latest news bulletin while playing in some clips and we'll make you a copy to take home.

Plus... BBC Radio 1Xtra will be broadcasting LIVE from the event!

SMG Digital Outside Broadcast Truck and News Set

Scottish Television will set up a news studio with a cromakey background and autocue which will be serviced by SMG Solutions Outside Broadcast Truck with two cameras linked back to the truck. This will give you an opportunity to have a look at how Studio and Outside Broadcasts are made. It will offer you a chance to have hands on experience in many disciplines - camera, sound, editing and lighting. The Outside Broadcast Truck will have the latest replay sport technology using EVS hard disk recorders which will give budding Directors and Editors encouragement to participate.
