How to prepare
Firstly, don't forget to buy a ticket as soon as possible!
Once you've got your ticket, it's a good idea to have a look at what's going to be happening on the day and plan what you want to do. The full list of exhibitors (including a link straight to their site), information sessions timetable, demonstrations and the In Conversation schedule will be constantly updated on this site, as the event approaches.
Some of the information sessions will only be running once so make sure you know when they are. However do keep checking back to see if there have been any changes, as the programmes, exhibitor list etc can be subject to last minute alterations.
The event will be really busy so it does help if you know what you want to get out of it before you arrive, then you can focus your attentions on visiting the right stands and attending the right talks.
If you're serious about a career in the media, it helps to know a bit about it! You might not know exactly what job you want at this stage – that's what the Media Careers Information Day is there to help with – but you will know what your favourite magazines, TV programmes, radio shows, films etc are and you'll know why you like them. The people you meet on the day might ask you about this and they will probably want to know why you would like to work in the media. Have a think before you get there.
The Media Careers Information Day (Glasgow) is a highly successful event, now entering its 2nd year. It is organised by a partnership of leading media companies, in collaboration with Scottish Universities:
